Synthesis
Most of the market and user research was conducted by Bookout Marketing team. I was able to perform the synthesis based on the data collected. Synthesising the data helped me understand users primary needs and use cases along with their pain points of existing solution. After synthesis a pattern in user behaviour emerged, it was helpful as it paved way for our initial prototypes
Userflow
After initial research we were able to identify the feature sets that would help our users full fill their needs. This was helpful in generating the most optimised path.
Prototype
We took the approach of rapid prototyping for this project. I wanted to test out different variations, this approach helped us in identifying the most intuitive methods. Prototypes were wireframed and usability testing was conducted with the persona
Simple Sign Up
To make the sign up process seamless and yet personalised. I decided to opt for a social media sign in option. This helped us do two things, one we were able to provide more personalised experience later in app and second it made sharing among connections easier for the user.
Personalisation
In order to provide more personalised experience, where user could browser through their favourite genre and authors, I decided to add one more step. Here we asked users about their favourite authors, it helped us identify what a particular individual would be interested in.
To The Point
After two simple steps user will land on a screen which is curated to their interests, app layout is intuitive and simple. I’ve tried to reduce the cognitive friction from the overall design allowing for a “to the point” experience.
