AUXO
User Research | User Interface | Interaction
While at Telenor I worked on one of the IoT products called AUXO. The purpose of the app was to help users track their vehicle, and to keep a maintenance record. It offered features like real time tracking of vehicle, past trip logs, Geofence, vehicle maintenance logs, real time notifications if any fault occurs, violation alerts like harsh acceleration, brakes or corners, and provided users with a summary of their driving behaviour. AUXO app was designed for iOS and Android platforms. I was tasked to define AUXO app experience and design its interface and interactions.
Scope
Conduct a user research and build personas. Identify the primary use cases and design a UI of an app that helps users track their vehicle and it’s events in real time.

Persona
We conducted market research to identify our persona and target audience. Based on the service feature sets we were able to fragment our three major personas and their use cases
Usecase Breakdown
- Families with drivers, wanted to monitor their drivers movement for any suspicious or inappropriate activity.
- Parents who wanted to make sure their children are driving responsibly
- Vehicle health conscious people, who wanted to monitor their vehicle performance and its health.
Analysis
Once we identified our personas, we went out and shortlisted few people who fall under our personas criteria. We conducted interviews with them, tried to empathise and figure out their pain points. We looked for common patterns and tried to drive feature sets based on our technical and business feasibility

User Journey
Based on the user feedback and the data collected, different concepts for the user journey and flow were created. These concepts revolved around the main feature sets and usecases. After different iterations a final optimised user journey was mapped out
Wireframes
Once the user journey is defined we move towards wireframing the concepts. These wireframes served as an initial prototype. Our main focus was to identify the UI elements and come up a functional UI which could then be served as a prototype
Usability Test
A prototype with basic interaction was made for testing purposes. It helped us in identifying the major shortcomings. We conducted a usability testing session with our users and based on the results we made some major improvements in the final product
Product
Once the feedback from prototype usability testing is implemented and all the nitty gritty is done with. We worked on designing the final UI for of the mobile application based on the brand language that was already in place. Assets were shared with the development team to be implemented
